Commands of Christ

Live by God’s every word, not merely by food.

Do not put God to the test.

Worship and serve God alone.

Make my house a house of prayer for the nations and do not make it into a market or a
den of thieves.

You must be born again.

Repent and believe the good news.

Go and learn what it means, “I desire mercy, not sacrifice.”

Do not be amazed at My authority.
-
Rejoice when you are persecuted for My sake.
-
Let your good deeds bring glory to God.

Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or Prophets. I came to fulfill them.

Do not be angry with a brother.
-
Reconcile before you pray.
-
Lust is adultery. Radically protect yourself from it.
-
Do not divorce. Do not separate what God has joined together.

Do not swear.
-
Do not resist evil people who abuse you.
-
Give to the one who asks. Do not turn away from those who want to borrow. If someone
takes what is yours, do not demand it back.
-
Love your enemies.
-
Take care not to do your righteous deeds in order to receive glory from men.
-
Pray like this...
-
Do not hoard treasures on earth, but in heaven.
-
Do not worry about your life or food or clothing but seek God’s Kingdom and
righteousness.
-
Do not judge.
-
Deal with your own sin before judging another.
-
Do to others as you would have them do to you.
-
Enter through the narrow gate.
-
Beware of false prophets.
-
Do not give what is holy to dogs or throw your pearls to swine.
-
Ask, seek and knock in prayer.
-
Be merciful and perfect as your heavenly Father is merciful and perfect.

Forgive and you will be forgiven.
-
Listen! (Usually in reference to one of His teachings or parables.)

Give and it will be given to you, abundantly.

Take care what you listen to and what you do with it.

Come to me. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me.

Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, drive out demons.

Proclaim that the kingdom of God is near.

Freely you have received. Freely give.

Shake the dust off your feet where no one receives you or listens to you.

Go, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves, so be as shrewd as serpents and as
innocent as doves.

Do not worry about your defense when you are arrested for My sake.

Do not fear man, but fear God.

What I speak to you quietly, announce loudly.

Do not think that I came to establish peace on earth.

Look up and see the fields ripe for harvest.

Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures eternally.

Look out for the teaching and hypocrisy of the Pharisees.

Anyone who wishes to come after Me must deny himself, take up his cross and follow
me.

Become like children.

Do not hinder anyone just because they are not in your group.

Resist temptation radically.

Have salt in yourselves and be at peace with one another.

Deal with a brother who sins.

Do not judge by appearances, but judge justly.

Follow me and let the dead bury their own dead.

Do not rejoice at power over demons, but over eternal life.

Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.

Be generous to the poor.

Beware of all greed.

Sell your possessions and give to the poor.

Be ready and watching for My return.

Humble yourself.

Exalt the humble and serve them.

Use temporal wealth for eternal purposes.

When you have done all you were asked to, say, “we are unprofitable slaves, we have
only done our duty.”

Remember Lot’s wife and do not try to preserve your life.

Be wholesome in your speech.

Let children come to Jesus and do not despise them.
-
Keep the commandments.
-
Serve others.
-
Have faith in God.
-
Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.

Beware of the scribes and do not imitate them.
-
Watch out that no false Christ deceives you.
-
When you see signs of my return, do not be terrified, but take heart.

Be alert for My return.
-
Follow and serve Me.

Love each other.
-
Take, eat, drink. Do this in remembrance of Me.

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God and in Me.

Believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me.
-
Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.
-
Remain in Me and in My love so you can keep My commands and vice versa.

Pray in My Name.
-
Take courage.
-
Receive the Holy Spirit.

Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel.
-
Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey all My
commands.
-
Hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
